Dear friends,
What a year it has been for global health, with more people and organizations than ever before devoting time and resources to making the world a healthier place. We know we can best achieve this by working together, and it's thrilling to see many partnerships established and strengthened over the past year. We are excited to welcome three new members to the M8 Alliance, to strengthen our collaboration with the WHO, and to welcome Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as our fourth patron.
We have been heartened to see many leaders around the world making health—including the health of our planet—a priority. We saw this at the G7 summit, UN General Assembly, and of course at the World Health Summit, where Minister Spahn stated that global health will also be on the agenda of the German EU presidency.
We're looking forward to even more progress for a healthier future in the new year, including at April’s Regional Meeting in Kampala, the first to be held in Africa. Let us keep working together to improve health worldwide, putting health on the agenda in all policy areas, and welcoming even more new members to the growing global health community.
All the best and a healthy new year!
