Newsletter 11/2023: WHS 2023 Film & Register Now for WHS Regional Meeting 2024 in Melbourne
|
Dear friends,
With the many crises we face today, from armed conflicts to the devastating impact of climate change, trust between nations and within nations has been eroding. The lack of trust is one concern that cuts across the multifaceted global health problems. Last month, we gathered in Berlin for this year’s World Health Summit to discuss the most pressing issues in global health. Decreasing trust emerged as one of the most important issues during WHS 2023.
We need to foster trust in the health community - it is the necessary foundation for all our efforts in global health. For multilateral cooperation, we need trust. For health interventions to be accepted in the communities, we need trust. Rebuilding trust is no easy feat. The multi-stakeholder approach as well as the friendly global interaction of the World Health Summit are central to make progress in this regard.
The upcoming WHS Regional Meeting 2024 in Melbourne, Australia will provide an important opportunity to take the next steps in rebuilding trust. Climate change and health, geopolitics and health as well as thriving communities and health will be the three overarching topics. Please save the date April 22-24 and register now – find all information below.
Stay safe and healthy!
