Studies suggest that sepsis is responsible for approximately 11 million deaths per year, accounting for nearly 20% of all deaths globally. Despite being preventable and treatable with timely care, sepsis remains a major health challenge, especially in low-income areas. On September 13, we recognized World Sepsis Day, highlighting the need for greater awareness and prevention. To learn more, we recommend watching the recording of the 'Official Launch of the 2030 Global Agenda for Sepsis' at the German Parliament earlier this month—featuring WHS President Axel R. Pries among others.
