New WHO Director General

On May 23, the World Health Organization elected a new Director General - Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus >

He was nominated by the Government of Ethiopia and will begin his five-year term on July 1, 2017. Prior to his election, Ghebreyesus served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Minister of Health in Ethiopia.

We very much look forward to a mutually cooperative relationship!

New M8 Alliance Member: Istanbul University

On the occasion of the World Health Summit Regional Meeting in Montreal, the M8 Alliance > accepted Istanbul University > as its 25th member.

The university was established in 1453, has seventeen faculties on five campuses and hosts about 100,000 students.
